The Essential Role of Patience in Teaching

There are other qualities that makes a good teacher. These include knowledge, mastering the curriculum, delivery, and teaching methodologies. However, what makes a great teacher is patience. Creating a lesson plan requires patience. The lesson should be motivated not only by the curriculum but also by the student’s learning styles and needs. It takes patience to present and represent, phrase and rephrase, plan and plan again to get student engagement.

A classroom is a Socio-culturally diverse place with students of different learning styles. It takes a whole lot of patience to cut across everyone equally. Think of all the teachers you loved and and respected, patience should be one of their virtues. Coming from a place of experience.
